The plants and animals designs that we weave into our handicrafts are passed down by the previous generations and are based on our chita muyang (ancestral stories), and those that come to us through dreams. Only occasionally will the younger generations create new designs (e.g. bunga tepus) or modify existing ones (e.g. jering lidah and keris pintal).
