This vivid colored bujam (the Mah Meri pouch) is woven from hake’ (pandanus) leaves.
Each bujam is handmade and one of a kind
The bujam is traditionally used to carry tobacco leaves and rolled tobacco, betel nuts, coins and money. It comes with an inner coarser-woven lining of pandanus for durability.
The motif woven into the bujam is called "ombak" or wave, as the pattern resembles the waves in the ocean.
This bujam can be used as a unique iPod case to protect your iPod from scratches and dust. It can also be used as an all-purpose carry pouch to store mobile phone, name cards, petty cash, keys and loose coins.
