Contemporary use:
A contemporary purse with zipper, useful for keeping loose change. This purse has an unusual shape inspired by the belimbing or carambola fruit (starfruit).
The purse is mostly handwoven from bemban (Donnax sp) fibre, a freshwater reed found growing on river fringes. The body of the purse is woven in a traditional pattern, and trimmed with cloth bias tape.
